Fighting Humidity, with Water

It’s all about water.

Hot and dry weather can damage the skin, that’s what people commonly believed. So, for tropical area such as Malaysia, beauty lovers thought the almighty sunscreen can solve their problem.

The fact is, under high humidity condition, the heat in the air increases sweat production, yet the high humidity keeps the sweat from evaporating.

This can clogs your pores, leading to breakouts of acne, increasing the risk of bacterial or fungal infections.

Proper cleansing is vital to a healthy and acne-free skin. Regular deep cleansing will remove excessive oil and dirt that have accumulated on your skin throughout the day.

Wash your face with lukewarm water. Most of the cleansing products on the market chemically interact with warm water. If the water is not warm enough, the cleansing agents may not activate properly, leaving pore-clogging residues. But if the water is too hot, it may dries your skin instead.

The trick is, when your skin comes in contact with water, it should feel comfortably warm, not burning hot or stinging cold. To be specific, anywhere between 35 – 37 degree Celsius is considered to be lukewarm.

Finally, remember to apply light moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated. The moisturizer helps to retain sufficient moisture on your skin – rainy day or shine, high humidity or dry weather alike.
